Articles 314, 334, and 358 · Texas pack

Boxes and wiring methods

Wiring-method items are chapter finds plus the occasional volume sum. Article 314 is boxes, Article 334 is nonmetallic-sheathed cable, and Article 358 is EMT.

  • Box-fill practice prints the cubic-inch allowance and the device volumes in the problem. Add what the stem lists. Then confirm the real allowance in Article 314 of your 2026 book before test day, because the drill figure is not a table reprint.
  • Cable type and raceway type are lookup items. If the stem names the wiring method, start in that article instead of Article 300’s general rules, unless the question is actually about the general rule.
  • This topic sits on both portions: a knowledge find, and a small calculation. Misses on either side belong in the drill queue.
