Articles 215, 240, and 408 · Texas pack
Conductors, feeders, and overcurrent
Feeders, overcurrent devices, and panelboards show up as one decision on test day: what is feeding the load, what opens the circuit, and what the panel is allowed to hold.
- Article 215 is the feeder chapter. Article 240 is overcurrent. Article 408 is panelboards and switchboards. A stem about a lighting and appliance panelboard is an Article 408 lookup, even when the wire size feels like a calculation.
- Ampacity tables stay in your book. This page does not copy them. If an item needs a number, the number is in the stem and the cite tells you which chapter justifies the step.
- Pair this topic with the load-calculation set. A feeder size you cannot defend from Article 220 and Article 215 is a guess.
Feeder ampacity, fuses and breakers, and panelboard overcurrent.
