Florida · FLHSMV knowledge tests
160 free questions across 8 endorsements, 20 in each section. CDL Full Access is $19/month and opens the other 280 starter questions, for every endorsement, not $10 each. Air brakes, combination, hazmat, tank, doubles, passenger, and school bus are included with general knowledge.
These are the department’s class lists and the January 30, 2026 testing announcement, not a promise about how anyone scores. Applicants are at least 18. Under 21, the license is intrastate only. You have to be a Florida resident and hold a Florida operator license. This site does not issue the permit.
FLHSMV lists Class A as general knowledge, combination, air brakes if the truck has them, and the endorsement exams you need, then a pre-trip inspection, basic vehicle control, and an on-road test. Class B is general knowledge, air brakes if they apply, endorsements, and the same three skills parts. Class C is for a vehicle under 26,001 pounds that hauls placarded hazardous materials or is designed for 16 or more people including the driver: general knowledge, air brakes if they apply, endorsements, and the same skills parts.
FLHSMV announced on January 30, 2026 that beginning February 6, 2026, driver license knowledge and skills exams are in English only. The change covers every classification, including exams given orally. Translation services are not allowed. The department’s CDL page had said knowledge exams were offered in more than one language and could be oral in English or Spanish, with hazmat excepted, and that skills tests were already in English with no interpreter. Read the announcement, and confirm with FLHSMV if those two pages still disagree.
49 CFR 383.25 says a CLP holder is not eligible for the skills test in the first 14 days after the permit is first issued. Florida tax-collector offices that issue CDLs describe that same hold. Confirm the date on your permit before you book. Federal rules also keep a first-time Class A or B, some upgrades, and a first-time passenger, school bus, or hazmat endorsement behind entry-level driver training on the Training Provider Registry. One Pass Prep is not on that registry.
FLHSMV monitors third-party skills testers under 49 CFR Part 383 and Chapter 322, Florida Statutes. The skills test is still the vehicle inspection, basic control, and the road, in a vehicle that matches the class. Federal rules set an 80% floor on each knowledge test in 49 CFR 383.135. The sets here use that line. They are not FLHSMV forms, and this site does not publish a pass rate.
One Pass Prep is not affiliated with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles or FMCSA. This site does not issue a Florida CLP or CDL.
20 free questions in each endorsement. Answers stay hidden until you submit. The line on these sets is 80%, which is the written-test line in 49 CFR 383.135. A score here is not a pass rate. The counts on each card are the free set and the original questions in that section.

The questions are original. They are written for the same topics the national manuals cover, which Florida uses. They are not FLHSMV items. Mixed free practice pulls two free questions from each endorsement. All CDL states.
